The house has been renovated to an extremely high standard. The beautiful original features have been kept and only the best materials used in the skilful renovation. The house is full of charm and history from the past. The perfect mix between modern comfort and authenticity.  A beautiful balance of tradition and modernity with a great combination of stonework, wood and steel.

The house boasts a large kitchen with cathedral ceilings, a spacious living room with beautiful typical Provencal fireplace, 4 bright and airy bedroom suites.

Outside ideal for families, the house is set in a beautiful secluded setting far from the crowds. The property is big enough for everyone to find the ideal spot to relax and enjoy their holiday to the full whilst making the most of the famous French "art de vivre" at its best. The location is truly exceptional, and all the rooms in the house have been designed to be as close to the stunning surrounding Alpilles as possible. Leave the windows open and enjoy the view over the gardens planted with plenty of Mediterranean plants, Pine trees, Fig trees, Oleanders, Lavender, Rosemary, Olive trees, hundred year old Plane trees… A stunning stone table is set in the garden, the ideal place to enjoy al fresco dining with friends or family, a lounge area has been strategically installed in the middle of the unique gardens.

Large lawns surround the beautiful stone house … food lovers will also enjoy the fabulous organic vegetable garden.

The natural pool is spectacular and is literally set at the foot of the Alpilles hills and looks like it has been there forever. Swimming in the pool is a totally unique experience.

A large wooden box hides a bar, outdoor kitchen, outdoor plancha grill, blender, fridge, everything you could possibly dream of for outdoor cooking and dining.

Several South-facing terraces boast breath taking views of the surrounding craggy Alpilles hills, other terraces on the West side of the house are lovely and tranquil.

Pétanque / Boule and children’s games are available.

The lovely natural garden in the heart of the Alpilles, pétanque under the pine trees, a vegetable garden and natural pool all make it the idyllic setting for the perfect holiday.

St-Rémy-de-Provence has a charming historic centre with winding streets, historic mansions, chapels, fountained squares, shops and plenty of cafés and restaurants enabling you to participate in the relaxed Provençal way of life. The artist Vincent Van Gogh painted his “Starry Night” here and many contemporary artists are still inspired by the town’s light and colour.

While you are here, visit the ancient Roman site of Glanum and the beautiful Monastery of St-Paul de Mausole where Van Gogh was a patient and created so many of his paintings.

Les Alpilles Natural Park is another great place for families with rock climbing, horse riding, hiking and mountain biking along its many trails. It has idyllic villages such as exquisite Les-Baux-de-Provence, an 11km drive from your holiday home. It is one of France’s Plus Beaux Villages, a medieval village perched on a rocky plateau from which there are some wonderful views of Arles, the Camargue and Les Alpilles.

From Les-Baux, take the short drive southwards to Mausanne-les-Alpilles, a pleasant village surrounded by huge olive plantations and superb countryside. It is one of France’s most important places for producing olive oil, try some on a piece of fresh bread or a slice of goat’s cheese.

Don’t miss the 40-minute drive northwards to the lively city of Avignon which is fascinating to explore on foot. World famous Pont d’Avignon has pretty views of the city and the Pope’s Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

You may prefer to head towards Arles (27km) well known for its fine architecture and Roman remains. There are many good restaurants to choose from but it’s a special experience to dine beneath the plane trees in Place du Forum where Van Gogh once sat with his easel to paint “Café Terrace at Night”.

Arles is a stepping stone to the glorious Camargue which covers 900 square kilometres of land and offers opportunities for horse-riding, walking, quad biking and jeep tours. Here you will find those mythical wild white horses, black bulls, pink flamingos, lagoons, and red salt-pans reaching out towards the Mediterranean.
