This traditional Provencal Mas des Alpilles near Maussane les Alpiles in a beautiful setting on the foot of the Alpilles hills, former 17th century hunting lodge, completely renovated,  with exposed stones, uncluttered volumes,  bright and airy,

minimalist in style goes to the essential of a clever mix of and natural materials  creating an image of living where simple pleasure, combined with comfort

 

The Mas consists of fully air-conditioned on 2 levels with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms accommodating up to 10 guests.

On the ground floor there is an entrance hall leading to a large and bright living room with elegantly furnished with a comfortable seating area open stone fireplace & doors to a covered terrace.  A dining room with table for 10 with a fully modern equipped kitchen.  There is a cellar/ laundry room.

 

On the half landing there is a wash basin with a guest cloak room with WC and and also a bathroom with bath, walk in shower and basin

On the upper level on the right side there is a mezzanine with a seating are with TV

The Annex, facing the swimming pool there is independent suite with double bed 180cm x 200cm and a shower room and WC.

 

Outside there is a facing south, the dining terrace is protected from the mistral by the house. Wrought iron benches and an elegant stone well.

The garden offers different spaces for relaxation or sharing facing the hill and the olive groves. They will offer you moments of calm and conviviality, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation or nature. Swimming pool of 11m x 5m depth from 1.20m to 1.65 m with a beach entrance of 1m x 5m depth 25cm

 

Located on the edge of the village of Maussane des Alpilles, not far from the cafes and restaurants on whose terraces, in the shade of the plane trees that line the village square, you can sip a cold drink, admire the works of the artists who expose every Friday or go to your market on Thursday morning. At the stalls, you will discover the richness and variety of local products and the southern accent...Maussane also offers many quality shops to satisfy you.

There are many other interesting villages nearby such as St. Remy de Provence, the birthplace of the 16th Century astrologer Nostradamus and just outside the town is the impressive Greco-Roman archaeological site of Glanum.  Also nearby is the beautiful retreat where Van Gough painted. Villages such as Les Baux de Provence and Fontvielle and the remote and mysterious wetlands of the Camargue (one of Europe’s most important nature reserves, known especially for its pink flamingos, fighting bulls and wild horses) and all around the scent of rosemary, thyme and lavender.

 

A short 25 minutes drive north is the beautiful walled city of Avignon - a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the medieval city of Popes, with the biggest gothic palace in the world.

Pont de Guard – also a World Heritage Site – the incredible triple height aqueduct bridge built by the Romans, which delivered pure water to the Roman baths and fountains at Nîmes to the west, with its impressive Roman arena.

To the south, the city of Arles with its roman arena (holdings 20,000 spectators) and the nearest beach at St. Maries de la Mer (¾ hour’s drive).

The Camargue offers wonderful opportunities to ride, bicycle and walk in this fascinating area. There is also excellent riding, cycling and walking in the Alpilles hills close to St Remy and Les Baux de Provence. Bicycles can be hired in several local villages and there are a number of nearby livery stables

Guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival, extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the Security deposit

The maintenance of the exteriors and the swimming pool is ensured by the owners

Extra cleaning on request when booking

Mandatory final cleaning 300 € to be paid with the final rental instalment

Mandatory that there is also a compulsory concierge fee of 400 € for stays of 7 nights

All late arrivals after 9.00 pm or Sunday arrivals extra charge will applicable 120 €
