4La Madeleine is a charming holiday home, located in the small village of Oppedette in the south of Provence. Once an old rectory, the house has been carefully renovated without losing its authenticity. The interior is cozy and combines old tiled floors and high beamed ceilings with contemporary furniture and colourful details such as the bedspreads, carpets, cushions, and upholstery of the chairs.
The house has an inviting living/dining room with a fireplace, a fully equipped rustic kitchen, and 4 en-suite bedrooms including one in a studio with private lounge that can accommodate 8-10 people.

Two steps up from the living room is the fully equipped kitchen with oven, ceramic hobs, two fridges, freezer, dishwasher, kettle and coffee machine. Laundry room with washing machine and dryer. There is a guest’s cloakroom with WC
The bedrooms are all located on the first floors, Master bedroom with King size bed 200cm, TV and with the en-suite bathroom with bath & shower with WC.

Separate adjoining Studio/Annex 25m away from the main house and accessible from the outside only is the 4 bedroom with twin beds, TV and en suite shower room with shower and WC with an additional living area with double sofa bed 160cm.
In the beautifully landscaped garden, you will be treated to beautiful views of the foothills of the Alps which you can enjoy from your sun chair by the pool10 x 3.6m, depth 1.3m throughout. Children can play on the lawn and in the evening you can dine on the terrace where everyone can find a place at the dining table. If you don't want to cook for a day, a catering service or a chef at home can be arranged!
Located on the edge of the Luberon National Park, La Madeleine is an excellent starting point for hikes and bicycle tours. Just a stone's throw away are the "Gorges of Oppeddete" for an adventurous day-out and, of course, you can't miss the nearby hilltop villages - voted the most beautiful in the Luberon.
Simiane-la-Rotonde, the "city of character", is the closest village 9 km and is considered as being one of the loveliest hill-top villages in 'Haute Provence'. Thanks to its high altitude (600-700 m), the village enjoys some cool respite from the blazing hot summer sun. For many years, Simiane was the regional capital of lavender and remains an important production centre today. A traditional music festival takes place each summer from mid-July to mid-August.
Also Banon, the village made famous by its goat cheese wrapped in dried chestnut leaves and tied with a raffia ribbon, is located 15 km away.
Each Saturday morning there is a large market in Apt, a bustling town, it’s colourful Saturday market and attractive old town is a must. There are also several large supermarkets ideal for the big shop !. You will find some good restaurants here too. Slightly further afield but still only a relatively short drive are Avignon and Aix en Provence, both of which would make wonderful day trips.

Location Information:
The Village of Oppedette there are lots of marked trails through the gorges and you can either walk along the rim or next to the river in the valley. However, care should be taken as the paths are on the very edge of the cliffs and are not advisable for children or anyone with vertigo and should not be attempted in wet weather.
