Built in 19th century as a self-sufficient farmhouse completed with cattle shed, pigsty and barn, Casale Lavica has been restored using traditional material as wood, clay and stone. It overlooks a green tableland where you can see sheep grazing.
The house is made off a typical local black lava stone as many farm houses of the region in that period and has been furnished with antique furniture and old carpets to preserve the spirit and the atmosphere of the old times, keeping anyhow an elegant country look, and without giving up any modern comfort. 

The ground floor is centred around a large living room with fireplace, sofas, armchairs, and books. There is a dining room with great views of the pastures. It has vaulted ceilings, terracotta tiles, a sideboard, and large dining table. The fully equipped kitchen has a fireplace, gas stove and oven, dishwasher, toaster, espresso machine, American coffee maker, and a table for 10. The kitchen also has access to the outdoors. There is a bathroom on this floor with a shower, in addition to a large bedroom with a 180 cm King sized bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. There is also a utility room with bicycles, fans, a cot, and highchair, along with two washing machines and an iron and board.

The first floor accessed by  (18 Steps) is a large suite that can also be directly accessed by an external stone staircase of 15 steps. This room has a 160 cm Queen-sized bed, 2 armchairs, a fireplace, a study with desk and bookshelf, and an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, and bidet. The three additional bedrooms on this floor all have 160 cm Queen-sized beds and en-suite bathrooms with bidet, two have showers, one has a bath and shower.

The villa is situated on a large, gated estate of 7 hectares (17,3 acres) overlooking hillsides and fields where sheep graze. There is a garden with flowers and fruit trees, a vegetable garden, and an orchard. The infinity pool (14 x 7m) is open the beginning of May through the end of September overlooks the countryside. There are chairs in the garden, a large porch with accommodations for alfresco dining, a barbecue and an antique wood burning oven, and a table with chairs beneath a canopy near the pool, along with deck chairs, a fridge, and a stereo. There is also a large area for parking on the property. Casale Lavica is only 15 min drive from Orvieto, one of the most beautiful Italian town, one-hour drive from Rome, and few minutes from some very nice medieval small villages, which still distinguish the look and the atmosphere of country central Italy.

Local info;

The villa is 2 km from the small village of Torre San Severo, which has a mini market. A little further is Orvieto, which has some of the best views in Europe, perched on top of a large volcanic rock formation with sheer vertical cliff’s. The town has many shops, cafes, and restaurants. The famous Gothic Duomo dates back to the 13th century and features a beautiful façade and interiors. Visit the papal palace, Etruscan ruins, and embark on a guided tour of one of the villages many underground caves. Be sure to purchase a bottle of Orvieto’s famous Classico wine! From Orvieto, there are fast trains to Rome and Florence.
