Description

IBastide des Sources just over 4 kilometres from the village of St Rémy-de-Provence, has been tastefully refurbished, this18th century farmhouse 400 sqm radiate charm and character throughout. Many original features, such as beamed and vaulted ceilings and a large stone fireplace blends in with the neutral soft furnishing, creating a stylish and elegant place to stay with its lavish garden and heated pool.

The dreamy garden with its pergola, where guests can enjoy their meals, or sitting by the pool house with pool is a perfect place to relax. The garden has many facets including the different varieties of fruit trees, rose bushes and the large vegetable garden providing guests with fresh produce.


This Mas is a large stone built Mas dating around the1740 which has been totally renovated keeping most of its original features and now maintained to a very high standard. Entering via a large Iron Gate electric controlled into a courtyard with ample parking space.

 

Entrance hall, with stone flag floor with door leading to a large kitchen Provencal style with dining area, is open plan, but gives the appearance of being a separate room, with all modern appliances. American fridge, dishwasher, 5 ring gas cooker, electric oven, microwave and fully equipped with all kitchen accessories... There is a small round table ideal for breakfast and a door leading to the garden patio.

The living room, stone flag floor, two large sofas and large window looking on to the terrace with pergola.  Just beyond there is a door leading to the study where there is a seating area with TV and music centre

 

Off the living room there is a double bedroom  Queen size with 160 cm bed and a separate shower room with basin. It also houses the washing machine. There is also a cloakroom WC. And just beyond is the utility / laundry room with Washing Machine & Dryer

 

On the first floor there is a large landing area with four bedrooms, one bathroom and two shower rooms.

Bedroom 2 south facing double Queen size 160cm bed and bedroom 3 with twin beds 90cm beds share a separate shower with basin and WC

Bedroom 4 double Queen size bed 160cm with en-suite shower room, double basin, and a WC. There is also a door from this bathroom to the landing so one of the other bedrooms can use this shower room as well

 

Out side there is a large terrace with a pergola area with long wrought iron table seating 10 under an old Platane trees, There is a covered pool house and a heated (on request extra charge) pool 10 x 5 


The lively village of St Rémy just 4 kilometres is a charming classical little town, capital of the Alpilles with all the amenities, boulangeries, little boutiques, quaint pavement cafes and excellent restaurants, its winding cobbled lanes you will discover the small squares, historic buildings , churches and museums and on Wednesday the colourful weekly market will offer the opportunity to discover local products and handicrafts which is a must to see.

A little further north of St Rémy is the magnificent walled city of Avignon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which boasts the gothic “Palace of the Popes”, a wonder not to be missed. Awe-inspiring Roman buildings and ruins are scattered everywhere in this Ancient Roman Province, the impressive triple-tiered aqueduct of the Pont du Gard and the massive arena in Arles are certainly worth a visit. Further southwest, under an hour’s drive, is the Camargue National Park, a fascinating wetland known for its pink flamingos, fighting bulls and wild horses, and which offers opportunities for hiking, cycling and horse riding.
