Built on a hilltop, Menerbes just 2 kilometres is surrounded by stunning scenery, offering splendid views. Visits to Menerbes are particularly interesting since it has preserved many vestiges of its past. In addition to the ramparts, we can find traces of its ancient history, including the Dolmen of Pichouno, a unique standing stone in the Vaucluse, which proves that Menerbes was inhabited in prehistoric times.
The Mas is also surrounded by other stunning villages in the Luberon such as, Bonnieux and Gordes and Cabrières d'Avignon where their are excellent restaurant such as “Le Vieux Bistrot” in Cabrières d'Avignon with a enclosed garden to eat al fresco which was famously mentioned by author Peter Mayle.
There are many weekly markets in most villages including the excellent farmers' market selling fruit, vegetables, flowers and wine in Coustellet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.,
