Description

The luxurious Villa Rei, a recently restored typical masseria – a fortified farm – is a gateway of indulgence, sun and relaxation. The villa is located in Apulia’s Salento area. Salento, the tip of the Apulian region and the southernmost part of Italy’s heel, is embraced by two seas, surrounded by miles of coastline, and rich in secret coves and cliffs. Here, the tourism is still local; so, you will be able to experience an authentic Italian vacation while luxuriating in the comfort of your villa. The surroundings include the baroque Lecce, also known as the Florence of the South; Otranto, recognised by UNESCO as a “Culture of Peace Messenger Site”; the seaside Gallipoli, which in Greek means “beautiful city”; and many other gems for you to discover, including great food and delicious wine. With a place so plentiful, why hurry home?

On the ground floor much attention has been dedicated to the elegant minimal interiors: high-end modern design furniture is spread out through several generous living rooms with conversation areas, and all are beautifully decorated with luxury fabrics and finishes. A generous dining area, with direct access to the pool area, is also on this floor, as well as a spacious commercial-grade kitchen, which provides direct access to the furnished courtyard for al fresco meals and is fully equipped to dish out meals for the most demanding of gourmands.
Two guest bathrooms complete this floor.

On the lower floor there is a state-of-the-art private spa is available for guests during their stay at Villa Rei. The luxury facility includes a massage room (you can book treatments for an extra fee), relax room, emotional shower, Turkish bath, sauna, small heated pool with hydro massage, and guest bathroom with shower. To enjoy this part of the villa is a must!

Outside the villa boasts more than 5,000 sq. ft. of quiet gardens, where a stunning oversized swimming pool shimmers under the sun. The idyllic outdoor dining area invites guests to enjoy meals and conversation up to the wee hours. A private chapel and an inner courtyard, which includes an ancient olive tree that stands like an old guardian of the guests, complete the relaxing atmosphere of this magical place.

Apulia boast the longest coastline among all mainland Italian regions, lapped by the Adriatic and Ionian limpid sapphire seas. For the most part of the year, this region is soaked by the sun and cooled by a fresh breeze, making it the perfect summer destination for the beach lovers. In the last decade, however, Apulia has been stirring tourists interest for many other reasons. Conquered by many different ancient civilisations – Greeks, Romans, Turks, Franks, Normans, Swabians, Angevins and Bourbons - Apulia treasures an impressive collection of castles, great artistic and cultural heritage, and important archeological sites. Besides the magnificent beaches and the crystal clear waters, Apulia’s highlights include the unique village of Alberobello with its white-washed trulli lining the streets, the natural wonders of the famous Grottoes of Castellana and Fasano, the baroque city of Lecce, Ostuni, nicknamed la città bianca due to the picturesque white stone houses and churches, and - last but not least - the captivating food reflecting centuries of mixed cultural influences. The only con to visiting this region is…so much to experience, so little time!
