Between the Luberon & Les Alpilles Mas Maureau is a private home of rare character and understated luxury. As you pass through its gates, time seems to soften. Cypress trees sway in the breeze, stone walls glow with warmth and the gentle scent of roses and herbs carries across the garden. This is not simply a holiday retreat; it is an invitation to savour life at a slower, more beautiful pace.

Crafted with the elegance of a traditional Provençal Mas Maureau blends rustic materials with refined touches throughout its air-conditioned interiors. Exposed beams and stone floors anchor beautifully styled rooms, while bespoke furnishings and thoughtful decor create a restful atmosphere. Sleeping 10 adults, each of the five main bedrooms offers king-size doubles, plush bedding, TVs and stylish private bathrooms. In addition, a delightful dorm-style bedroom welcomes up to five additional children with its own relaxation space and small bathroom.

At the heart of the property, the generous living space opens onto the terrace and garden, light pouring in from the arched French windows. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for local market hauls think ripe tomatoes, creamy goat’s cheese and crusty bread while the outdoor dining area and summer kitchen is ideal for leisurely al-fresco meals as the cicadas sing.

The lush gardens carefully landscaped yet effortlessly wild. Discover olive trees, native grasses and lavender plants alongside the heated swimming pool, where stone surrounds and sun loungers invite you to while away the afternoon. For the more energetic, a tennis court and air-conditioned gym await, or you may prefer the relaxing Hammam. As you explore, listen out for braying donkeys and goats, weave through the labyrinth and climb the raised platform for glorious views of the gardens and distant Alpilles hills. A shaded pétanque / Boule court and several hidden corners for reading or relax to complete the outdoor experience, all enclosed within a private, gated estate.

Pick fresh vegetables from the vegetable  garden collect eggs, try the estate’s honey, jam and olive oil. A buffet breakfast is served each morning and daily maid service is included.

Set just 3km from the enchanting village of Eygalières, Mas Maureau is an ideal base for exploring Provence. The hilltop village, a short drive or bike ride away, is known for its high-end restaurants, Friday morning market and authentic Provençal spirit. From here, explore the storied landscapes of Les Alpilles, with Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Les Baux and Avignon or the Luberon with villages as Gordes or Bonnieux as well as Aix en Provence all within easy reach.

It’s a quintessential village loved by A-list celebrities who have been known to buy houses here to escape the French Riviera paparazzi.

In the other direction lies Mollégès 3km, a traditional village with local shops and cafés, while you can find a good range of supermarkets around a 10 to 15-minute drive away near Plan d’Orgon and Cavaillon, ideal for stocking up on regional produce and essentials.
